Smallmouth Bass Fishing Report May 30. 2014 - Murray's Fly Shop

Smallmouth Bass Fishing Report May 30. 2014 - Murray's Fly Shop: "The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is in excellent shape now and you can catch some good size bass by fishing streamers in the deep pools and the deep cuts below the riffles.  The North Fork is especially good from Toms Brook to Mt. Jackson.  Effective flies for the large bass now are the Murray’s Magnum Darter 4, Magnum Gray Ghost 4 and Magnum Hog Sucker 4.  The South Fork is too high for good fishing at this time."

Those were times when the accepted method of walleye fishing was drift fishing and casting to the fish. The waters of Erie’s shallow western basin, a body of water stretching from Toledo to the islands, contained masses of fish attracting reefs and other structure, green tinted water, and literally millions of hungry walleyes."
