They also inhabit the waters of Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Panama, Singapore, Venezuela and parts of the United States (Guam, Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the United States Virgin Islands). Despite their name, these fish are cichlids, not basses."
