You might be surprised: "ATHENS — In reservoirs scattered throughout Texas, under the black skies of cool, fall nights, loud generators drone and bright lights beam from strange-looking boats built to transmit electrical current into the water to catch fish. Crews from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Inland Fisheries district offices use these electrofishing boats to collect information on fish populations, including Texas’ most popular fish — largemouth bass."

IGFA Confirms Sebile's World Record Largemouth Bass: "Patrick Sebile has fished all across the world and holds many IGFA records. On a recent trip to Lake Okeechobee, Fla., Sebile set out to fish his way into the record books once again while filming with Keith Alan for his upcoming TV show "Lured." He succeeded on the trip using a lure he designed called the Sebile Proppler Buzz. Sebile connected using the lure on a 61 cm (24.016 inches) largemouth bass, besting the previous record of 59 cm (23.228 inches)."

Fall Weather, Winter Season, Where Are The Bass? - Southeast Bass Fishing - Bass Fishing Forums: "I live in Greensboro N.C.  We have had a really warm winter so far this year.  My fishing partner and I took the boat out yesterday on Oak Hollow Lake.  The air temp was in the low 50's in the afternoon, and the surface water temps stayed around 45-48F.  We did not have any luck locating largemouth bass. "
