A number of fishermen report catching only two or three bass for a full day's effort. The water surface temperatures have been as high as 51 degrees by late in the afternoon and the bass are becoming more active.
The other good news is that the Alabama Rig has been working for a number of anglers. One fisherman reported catching five bass in one small area north of Lakeport. He said all were caught on a Alabama Rig. In addition, he said he had a number of bass follow the rig right up to the boat before turning away. Most of the fishermen are rigging three swimbaits with hooks and two as teasers."
